We Are Here

At SEEK, we are part of a rich legacy of emancipatory education in the academy. By virtue of our work with predominantly BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), economically challenged students, and students with other historically marginalized identities, we have transformed the City University of New York. Our acceptance into the academy was forged by fierce advocates for justice including Percy Ellis Sutton, Shirley Chisolm, and Julius Edelstein. In addition, we are proud to have among our transformative educators Audre Lorde, June Jordan, Toni Cade Bambara, and Adrienne Rich. We are among these trailblazers!

We invite you to participate in a transformative educational experience where we will deeply explore what liberatory education means for us and our work as educators.
